download.eclipse.org/webtools/repository/oxygen is missing Oxygen.2?

Brian de Alwis-3
Hi.

I use /webtools/repository/oxygen to obtain WTP since WTP doesn't publish the SDK features + plugins to the release train (why?).  But the composite repo at /webtools/repository/oxygen doesn't seem to have been updated to point to R3.9.2.  Could that be fixed please?

Thanks!

Brian.

Re: download.eclipse.org/webtools/repository/oxygen is missing Oxygen.2?

WTP Releng
Not sure how this is normally done, as this is something that Carl has handled in the past, and I don't know what generates the composite*.jar files, or why they contain references to several releases from 3.9.0 - 3.9.1a rather than just the latest.

But in the meantime, I've done this:

cd /webtools/repository
mv oxygen oxygen.1a
ln -s ../downloads/drops/R3.9.2/R-3.9.2-20171201000141/repository oxygen.2
ln -s oxygen.2/ oxygen

Does that work for you?

If so, I can add this to my wiki doc to store the WTP 3.10 / 3.9.x release process docs [1].

Brian de Alwis-3
Hmm, unfortunately that breaks anybody that had a target platform generated from versions from .1a as some of the features and bundles that changed in .2 are no longer present.  Including me :-)

I think it best if you reverted the change.

There may be a Hudson/Jenkins job that did the trick in the past?

Brian.

Re: download.eclipse.org/webtools/repository/oxygen is missing Oxygen.2?

WTP Releng
You want me to revert the site so it contains Oxygen.1a versions of WTP 3.9.1 instead of Oxygen.2 versions of WTP 3.9.2? That seems like a backward change.

Meanwhile, this bug was fixed yesterday.

Could you not update your TP to use WTP 3.9.2 bits instead? Be advised, there will be WTP 3.93 bits coming soon! :)

If the site used to contain references to several releases, can we
instead look at making that a properly documented process we can
follow?

WTP Releng
Oh... You want a composite of ALL the 3.9.x releases, including 3.9.0, 3.9.1, 3.9.1a, and 3.9.2?

I misunderstood.

Sure, I can do that tonight or tomorrow. Easy p2sy, lemon squeetwosy. :)

Re: download.eclipse.org/webtools/repository/oxygen is missing Oxygen.2?

Brian de Alwis-3
Yeah, it is a composite site that include all the releases. For example, /webtools/repository/neon includes 3.8.0 milestones, R3.8.0 and R3.8.1.  Thanks!

Could you not update your TP to use WTP 3.9.2 bits instead? Be advised, there will be WTP 3.93 bits coming soon! :)

We've moved to use the specific R3.9.2 repository for exactly this reason — and it's better for reproducible builds.

Brian.

Re: download.eclipse.org/webtools/repository/oxygen is missing Oxygen.2?

WTP Releng
Sorry for the delay in fixing this -- got sidetracked with the WTP 3.10 build failures yesterday. I've improved things but we're not 100% back in biz yet.

Meanwhile the oxygen repo now has all the 3.9.x R releases in it. Also updated the devdoc in the wiki:

Cheers,

Nick
